My thanks to all of you who were able to join me on the Global Leadership call on Monday! I’ll give you a quick review of the call here in my blog, but I hope you’ll download and listen to the whole call when you have the time.
I’m so excited about the upcoming September North America Leadership Summit in Park City, Utah! The theme of this year’s summit is “Unlock your Potential,” something I will touch on later in this post. But I want to tell you how very much I’m looking forward to seeing your faces when we have The Big Reveal at the Summit! This is going to be one of the most incredible reveals in the company’s history, and trust me – you will be very unhappy with yourself if you aren’t there. The Leadership Summit happens September 15th-17th … you can read more about it and register HERE. In fact, the Early Bird pricing is only available through June, so please register soon!
Other upcoming events around the world include the North American market’s Make Life Better Rewards Trip to Cancun (I believe there are about 200 people attending this trip from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Venezuela – the largest turnout for a North America rewards trip ever!).. Other reward trips in June are the European market’s trip to the Canary Islands, the Japan market’s makeup trip to San Francisco, CA and Orem, UT, and the August trip to Paris for the Thai, Singapore, and Malaysia leaders.
Also, the U.S. Latino group had a very successful event in Chicago recently. This group is going strong, with lots of growth, movement, and advancement. 30 of you qualified for the Cancun Rewards Trip, and many from that market segment have already registered for the Leadership Summit. Way to go, all of you!
Finally, the upcoming Matcha Kick-Off event in Germany for the European market is going to be HUGE. They have already sold more than 400 tickets! This will be an amazing event with lots of special announcements, prizes, and even the chance for cash bonuses. Don’t miss it! The web page with information on the event and a link to registration is HERE.
Back to the discussion of unlocking and reaching one’s potential. We talk a lot about what it takes to become a leader, but on this call, I spent some time discussing key points to consider when joining a company like Unicity. I heard some gentlemen discussing this topic, and it reminded me of two very different but very pertinent stories from my own life that I shared on the call.
I don’t want to take up your time by writing it all down here (you can always access the recording of the call HERE to listen to it and share it with others), but the essence was this: one story ended with the advice that “… it is more important to ‘be’ the right person than to ‘find’ the right person.” (in this instance, it was actually ‘marry’ the right person). The second story was about the time I was working toward my pilot’s license, realizing that ten hours of instruction and 15 minutes in the air may have taught me to take off and fly the airplane, but not necessarily how to land the thing. After an exciting but ill-advised solo flight I took when my instructor failed to show that ended in a fairly destructive landing, I found a new, tougher instructor. I asked him what had gone wrong, as I’d done all my preflight checks, and he replied that I’d forgotten the “Stewart check-list.” I understood immediately what he meant by that. I’d looked at the outward stuff – the airplane, the weather conditions, etc., but not at myself.
How does all that relate to you and Unicity? Well, Unicity is a good company on its way to becoming great; we have exceptional people, products, tools, logistics, and an exceptional compensation plan. We’re ready … are you?
The questions to ask are:
- Have you made the ‘you’ checklist?
- Are you investing in yourself?
- Have you asked yourself the hard questions about you and …
- Your commitment level?
- Your skillset and how to improve it
- Your goals and desires and what you’re doing to make them happen?
- Your motivators—what drives you?
Remember — Be the Right Person! And grow into your potential.
P.S. The archived recording of my latest call can be found HERE.
